It is believed that every card in a tarot deck has an astrological correlation. Each of the major Arcana cards corresponds with the stars, moons and planets within the zodiac.

There are also correlations between Minor Arcana of Tarot and Astrology as well.

Though, it is unknown who originally combined Tarot and astrology, correlations between the tarot and astrology have been formed for centuries.

The Tarot and Astrological Symbolism

Of two vastly powerful oracles, the combination of tarot and astrology can provide profound insight to your tarot card astrology readings.

Working with open images and symbols, both Astrology and the tarot reading require the skill of recognizing certain chances and challenges. The great benefit of the Tarot, however, is its creative element, because pictures speak directly to the soul.

Similar to dream images, which have strongly and deeply archetypal images, the Tarot contains nothing less than the collected archetypal dream images of human kind.

A typical tarot deck has 78 Tarot cards, which summarize the dream patterns of all humans.

However, different scholars have assigned different astral signifier to the trumps according to their own experience and perspective.
There is not a single Tarot card which is assigned to the same astrological symbol. Some readers assign several images to each astrological image which illustrates different facets of this symbol.

But, here are the most common astrological associations:

The Major Arcana (greater secrets), or trump cards, consists of 22 cards without suits:

1.The Magician – has a Mercury symbol and shows the characteristics of relation, connection, understanding, enlivening

2.The High Priestess - has a Moon symbol and shows the characteristics of sensitivity, moods, intuition, subconscious thought

3.The Empress - has a Venus symbol and shows the characteristics of beauty, love, art, music, poetry, pleasure, refinement

4.The Emperor - has a Aries symbol and shows the characteristics of active, demanding, determined, effective, ambitious

5.The Hierophant - has a Taurus symbol and shows the characteristics of security, subtle strength, appreciation, instruction, patience

6.The Lovers – has a Gemini symbol and shows the characteristics of communication, indecision, inquisitive, intelligent, changeable

7.The Chariot - has a Cancer symbol and shows the characteristics of emotion, diplomatic, intensity, impulsive, selective

8.Strength - has a Leo symbol and shows the characteristics of Ruling, Warmth, Generosity, Faithful, initiative

9.The Hermit - has a Virgo symbol and shows the characteristics of analyzing, practical, reflective, observation, thoughtful

10.Wheel of Fortune – has a Jupiter symbol and shows the characteristics of enthusiasm, hope, good fortune, expansion, receptivity

11.Justice - has a Libra symbol and shows the characteristics of balance, justice, truth, beauty, perfection

Scientists have studied the effect of the full moon and they found that there were less births in the weekends:). The old belief that there are more children born when the moon is full, has been proven wrong. In our days, children are born between 9 and 5 from Monday to Friday, if the doctors had it their way. Transit Pholus in Sagittarius
