WEEK OF MAY 13, 2012

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Your business is more than an activity or trade in which you are engaged. Your business is a system that you execute in a particular way -- a way that has integrity and gives you an identifiable style all your own. This week you'll recognize what makes you different and special, and you'll work to perfect that.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Your need for security will be at odds with your need for adventure. You may envy the one who goes off in his or her own direction, believing that life will offer more to that free spirit. But there's equal merit in your own path. Your risks are calculated. Trust your reasons and the particular math of your thought process.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You'll be looking for healthy ways to nurture your body. Finding a food and exercise balance that suits your lifestyle, physiology and disposition is only half the battle. The other half has to do with producing supportive, accepting and constructive thoughts and making a habit of thinking them.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You'll be drawn to challenges far above your current ability, but that's OK. If you mess up, second, third and even fourth chances abound. Every moment is an opportunity to start over. Of course, you may need to move your pride out of the way, which will prove to be the most difficult part.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). There's a Buddhist meditation of mindfulness that includes speaking aloud the activity in which you are currently engaged -- for instance, "I'm getting the mail now," or "I'm taking out the garbage." It's proof, if you needed it, that it's not insane to talk to yourself. In fact, it can focus you in a way that's spiritually uplifting.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You'll go from thinking that everything matters a great deal to letting go completely. Everything still matters, but you don't need to control it any more than it wants to be controlled by you. In peaceful moments, you will even give up your ego, temporarily experiencing yourself as a wave in the space-time continuum.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Whatever other people need you to do this week, you'll consider not doing it. It's the only way you can tell that you're acting out of your own will and not engaging in some automatic response pattern. It will be important for you to retain your unique identity in all things. Happiness is doing it your way.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You know what you'd like to learn, but you're still unclear who the best teacher will be. Before you plunk down money, do your research, which includes reading the signs. If you don't know how to read the signs, at least note them. That's the beginning. If getting in touch with someone is easy, that's a good sign.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). One way that you can be happy and feel like you're continually making progress is to claim a long-term goal that really excites you. Break down big goals into small, doable tasks. Stay engaged with small, daily steps. A long, drawn-out and potentially discouraging process actually becomes fun.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You'll enjoy exploring the esoteric and will come to new understandings about how things work. Your attention is magic and will change things. You can send your energy forward, and it will imprint upon the world without touching or being near the object of your focus.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Your opinion will be sought out, but you may not realize at first that it's needed. Others want you to bear witness to their stories, problems and insights. By listening carefully, you'll know what to say that will answer the situation at hand and be actionable.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). People don't know what you're going to do next, and they will tune in to find out. Your playful, sassy mood will intrigue and delight. You'll gain admirers -- but what you really want is customers. You'll get those, too, just as soon as you start specifically stating your preferences.

THIS WEEK'S BIRTHDAYS: You know what you want, and your burning desire makes life more vivid. This month you'll realize that you've felt constrained by a certain aspect of your life. You'll take action, and before June is over, you'll be liberated. It will be as though you've broken a chain and can fly. Investments pay in July. You once gave someone the perfect gift, and the good karma comes back around in August. Your family celebrates you in creative ways in October, which is also the beginning of a new cycle.
